i forgot to re-color my nails all nice for the Mother's Day breakfast. i had a rusty purpley color that may have been a metalic red on my left hand and a olive/forest/icky green on the other hand. my grandpa, an old Navy man and Metropolitan Museum of Art union guy, pointed them out: port and starboard.

i looked it up when i got home. he was right. wow.
