It's so exciting to finally be back. It's wonderful to have to depend on myself for cooking. I can't wait to bake little tea biscuits like a little old lady.
I've found Zoo Tycoon again. I will do all the scenarios! Videogames should help me be able to finish short term and long term goals, I will play more of them.
I'm excited to start classes, but I really can't wait to do concept art for a D&D campaign (not mine). Maybe I'll even make my own.

video games
I have found Railroad Tycoon II, and I have installed it on the ancient XP in the basement. THe good news is that the basement is where the exercise equipment is. The bad news is that television is horrible and I shouldn't watch it. Even history channel feels like a horrible joke, exploiting mental illnesses and having ghost shows.
I've also been playing Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass on a borrowed DS, until I find out what's wrong with mine and try to fix it.
I also must clean the Christmas-present mess from my room. I received a lot of things that secured my place in the kitchen, and I'm not ungrateful.
Some crazy part of me really likes going to bed at 12:34am. It just feels correct in an odd way. I've been sleeping something like 9 or 10 hours every night, amazing. I am remembering my strange dreams more and more.

Here is an official list of things I want to finish*:
Advanced Wars
Fire Emblem
Super Mario Galaxy
Legend of Zelda: Windwaker
Maplestory - Aran up to level 120 by school
Ursula LeGuin's Earthsea books (3 more left)
Frankenstein
Painting my room
This is easily 100+ hours.
*Finish: Not 100%, but finish enough. If not finish before school, I'll try to bring them to college.

#400
This is post 400, at the beginning of the 2011 summer.
There are a few things I wanted to do.
I want to finish a few videogames.
Finish reading the Earthsea books, and some of the other books on my shelf. They are technically young adult fantasy.
I've started taking apart my desk, so I should continue that.
I've had 4 cups of tea today. two with morning one with lunch one after dinner and they were all caffeinated so. Maybe I'm addicted to caffeine? Maybe I'll just finish Advanced Wars.

A Deep Breath and a Cup of Tea
Summer, and I always feel like I'm going to do something great and then something blocks the way. okay. I'm not that sick. I just feel lousy. A snot-nosed kid. Doesn't that make me an artist? Being scared by dreams, worrying over nothing, flying from one obsession to another? Does that even matter?
I was recently asked how well I know FinalCut. Is there a way to respond to that? I don't know how to measure how well I know a program, except with a quantity of time/experience and a example of quality. I wish I'd learned by a universal guide.
I've been playing Advanced Wars, Days of Ruin on DS. It's become a personal obsession that reminds me of how much I loved Fire Emblem until all my characters died.
When I was cleaning out my desk, I found a ton of drawings that reminded me of how raw my artwork was in high school. Raw, but so interesting. If I ever get my computer back together, if I ever get a desk to put it on, I'll scan those in. They'll be reprints, but they're still interesting. And I found a poem, too.
So after about 9 months of intensive training, what do we do now?
I don't know. I'm going to finish my tea.

another picture-less post
It's coming to the end of the my first year, but it's no where near done.
Portal 2 just came out. And I realized that I'd never finished the first Portal. So I sat down and finished it in 3 hours of full attention. uh, where did this come from? A lack of consequence, perhaps.
I think that's all I have to say.

It has been forever, and I've been spending most of the summer complaining about how there's nothing to do. I try to keep myself busy, and I've played videogames and watched tv and worried a lot.So I drew this with crayons and a (very) old sketchbook that was (literally) laying around my room (which is not yet clean).
It started as 'tired', moved into 'black eye', and ended in 'superhero'.

Summer Progression
I decide what I want to do this summer.
I want to read:
Dune
Wind, Sand and Stars
The Accidental Masterpiece
Some classic Asimov
Whatever people hand me. This has been working out, so far.
I want to play more video games:
Jak and Daxter
Super Mario Galaxy
Bioshock
Portal
Ratchet and Clank
I will do my own laundry.
I will organize my shit for college.
I will wear some new clothes and let go of tee shirts I've been wearing since middle school.
I will fill in my watercolor sketchbook.
I didn't realize how much my life was based on opposites until I spent a lot of time with someone who keeps a steady medium. I realize that I get excited and elated and irate and frustrated very quickly, but not usually at the same time. And it takes me longer to get out of the mindset than to be led into it by the situation.
New vocabulary, courtesy of reading Magic novels. Still not playing, though.

not about dr. horrible.
So what keeps you up at night? What's out there, in the dark, waiting for you? Why go to bed with a flashlight when there's a blackout?
Zombies. That's what. Reanimated, blood-hungry zombies. I'm ashamed to have had a nightmare about zombies, but being trapped in a children's therapy hospital, which turned into an island later when we had to get off it, and then not having a weapon, and not knowing who on your side may eat you, is f'in' scary. There's a definite curse in having vivid, overly-imaginative dreams.
And, a slightly related topic: Bioshock. I'm in love with and terrified of this game. I don't call myself a gamer- this is my first first-person shooter- and I'm still working out how to aim. But the graphics are beautiful, and the storyline is told in pre-recorded audio tracks. Where that ever be seen again?

crusades
I've started Pokemon: Pearl. I named my character Saladin, and my rival, Richard. After all, the Third Crusade is the best.
I was on my way home from church tonight, and the car passed some teens walking in the street. I didn't see enough of them (see paragraph above), but I knew a few. They were walking around the neighborhood, possibly drunk, and I was on a different end of such a spectrum. It's so weird.
I drew a bit, but I left it in church.

Scary things don't say boo.
The world is in chaos. A tropic storm is running through long island, and it's taking power with it. I was coming home from orchestra (North Shore Symphonic Orchestra, 2nd bassoon, dress rehersal) around 11, and all the lights were out on the block. So I get my flashlight, and get ready for bed. But I'm hyper from sitting in one place for hours playing music (ADHD?), so I'm thinking. And I'm trying not to think about zombies.
I don't watch horror media simply because, if they are plausible, I start believing in them. Not that zombies are plausible. But there's Left4Dead, 1st person zombie shootup, BioShock, which is basically a horror-scifi game, and Shaun of the Dead, which had its moments. There are the Nazgul, the dark horsemen. And horrifying things from Lovecraft.
And then I'm thinking, shit, I'm not five. But yeah, zombies are the worst that can happen.
After all, It's only a storm.
I gave blood today for the first time. I have no problems with blood or needles. Actually, I've found it fascinating since I was little. The experience wasn't pleasant, and it wasn't unpleasant. And at the end, I was just left with no energy. 'Drained'. I still don't know what type I am.
You can be scared of your blood. I'll be scared of my zombies.

Amelia, it was just a false alarm.
between rollercoaster and railroad tycoon, and school, i haven't been wasting time doing nothing on computers. Not a lot of time.
I like her shapes so much:
She is of course based on Ganes's famous mannequin (+ head). I personally hate it, because no female looks like that. No one is that thin, no one can physically bend to the side that way, and no one has boobs that defy gravity. It's not extremely feminine, but still, it's there so that students can learn the body, and it's wrong. I understand that having real people casted and made into mannequins would be scary and asymmetrical.
I added the T on the face originally to just figure out which way it's turning. I sorta like it now. It both represents the face and is totally not real at all. And it's totally unbalanced. imbalance. Spellcheck isn't helping.
Joni Mitchell's Amelia is stuck in my head. Oh no oh no oh no.

Giants and God-er-pillars.
Some paintings. I don't usually paint, but last week I found out just how much canvasboard I have. These weren't planned out, but I sorta like the foot. They're pretty surreal. Watercolor, the PRANG sets from school and some 'real' tube colors. Pancreatic clouds and god-faces. The foot is, technically 'still life'. I got to model for that one. I was going to go into the city for figure drawing, but it was gonna rain, so I painted.
Part of what I'm looking for is what I do. Everyone has a specific handwriting, line quality, mode of speech. What am I like with painting?
I got a lesson from the Food Network on how to properly cut a whole chicken from the supermarket. I can't say it doesn't interest me. Some part of my anatomy learnings are waiting for the chance to understand how my meat is cut. It's not sick or disgusting- it's what happens. If I'm gonna eat meat, I want to make sure I'm not shy about it. Except for the killing part.
Movie to look up: The Thief and the Cobbler. Or the Princess and the Cobbler. There are so many different versions of the film. Hand-animated, by Richard Williams (Who Framed Roger Rabbit animator), and it has some killer backgrounds.
Running on a stage blindfolded is one of my greatest hells. I've been on that stage in the dark before, but this is having someone else lead you. And then having to run. And listening to everyone else running around you. Holy Shit. I'm an artist- without my eyes life gets a lot harder. I don't always trust the people around me. No offense, but everyone makes mistakes. And then I get lead through the halls, and I try not to remember where I am and let Taoism* take it's toll. I felt like I had more fun leading blind Ashley around, and I connected more with my other senses that way. I had to think of things to explore without my eyes. What's interesting? What can I smell and feel and hear? I liked the leading when we were running, too.
Romanticism is in the works.
*Taoism: The present is beautiful and fun. Read some of the Tao of Pooh.

TF2 is my love. I've been starting with Scout and Soldier, because I like hitting things and blowing things up. I should try Heavy and Engineer and Sniper, though.
and there are trailers, but you should know that. language, guns, violence, be forewarned.

Some outstanding individualities:
I want a dog named Igo just so that I go "Aren't you a good Igo!" and "Where's my Igo run off to."
I've started a copy I found of The Sword in the Stone, which is about Arthur's childhood. Subways have a knack of getting people with short attention spans to read difficult books.
Agreed with a Mac person today that Macs and PCs have their good uses (Artsy stuff and Corporate stuff, respectively), but one cannot totally trump the other. Pats all around.
SPORE:
I can feel my AP Biology going down the drain. I really really want to be the friendliest carnivore out there.
My planets and their species are named after colors. I'm working on the species Lemongrass on the planet YellowTape. my brother has his nasty scorpion-thing on the planet RedLeather. The fluffy herbavore is on BlueSoap, and the omnivore (Carrot) is on OrangeSweater.

Walking into spiderwebs
i have passed a gauntlet. I have gone into Manhattan, alone, and come out intact.
FITorientation: Dear Loving Parents, We'll take good care of your children in this terrible city, don't worry. Just step back for a sec and leave them alone. Thank you, FIT.
There was a segment about 'what causes the most medical problems, the top 5'.
5. Fainting, due to excitement or lack of breakfast.
4. Throwing Up, Anxiety-Related Problems, Or Being Sleepy, it's probably your own fault.
3. Cutting Your Finger, Xacto knives.
2. Burns, Flame torches are used in the jewelery class.
1. Sewing Your Finger, it's a fashion school- this happens.
Of course, I had to compensate with making up grievous medical problems that are associated with drawing with neglect.
There is a coffee shop by the train station that has everything. Hand-stuffed teabags. Mason jar cups. And what I think is an original Donkey Kong arcade machine. GEEKING.
The tables have trivia cards, and the lemonade is too acidic and too sweet and too cold. It's wonderful.
The garden is officially planted. Late enough.

listening to: Cirque Du Soleil, Corteo.
the large cleanup of my room has begun. the major organization. maybe ill write down some ideas i live by and paint something for the wall.this Change needs a large, compund german name.
Sonic Adventure 2 Battle is one of the best games in my house because I don't fail totally at it. I get so frustrated when i can't win at video games. Thats why I have Fable ^_^.
rule-idea of life: never put down your own work. you should have respect for it, and even if you don't want to see it ever again, never degrade something that came from your own hands. humility is different than constantly saying that your work sucks.
