fall endings.

Animated Views had an article on The Secret of the Kells, an Irish animated film with some amazing style. Another movie bending 2D and 3D. Unfortunately, it's only playing in the US for a weekend in LA, so it can qualify for an oscar nomination.

D&D. My character is mostly finished, I just have to go over everything once again. Morel Twenney, the half-elf Ranger, level 1. I carry a dagger and longbow, and I will definitely make a large slingshot later in the game, when I have my bear animal companion. I can't wait. So much of D&D is story-telling, and after a few levels, I'll start my dungeon master training, and then I'll be able to learn storytelling from direct experience.

I want to finish my sketchbook by the end of the month. By Thanksgiving. And then, the next sketchbook will be the one sent to CalArts, finished or unfinished.
Some pictures from smugmug: our fall ritual.

Morel, coming to the rescue.

making my first D&D character. I eventually want to rise to the ranks of Dungeon Master, as in the guy who makes the rules and the story, but I'm okay with my Half-Elf Ranger. The version3.5 player's manual has really nice drawings in it.
Half-elf names are not fun. The best i can come up with is 'Morel'. The mushroom.
As school starts, I may be called on to keep the blog partially for academic reasons, which may include 'What I did today was' and 'This is a questionaire and an essay about what I think about it'. I'll also be making a website from scratch, I expect.

second day. no thunder tonight.

listening to: Scarborough Fair, Simon&Garfunkel.
friend marcus has a car and drives to Art League with me. Being with a young driver is sorta like eating a burger from White Castle- your worried you might die really really soon.
some india ink painting. technically, i should be using a quill, but there were brushes for washes. some pics below.
theres a painting project coming up. I don't know what it will be, except acrylic, but i want to have shapes play a strong part in the piece.
the fight against the powdery mildew continues.
learned how to play Risk, and got a little too into it. I proclaimed myself the totallitarian dictator of all of Oceania and South America.
