new reeds

there's no peace of mind like knowing that i have working reeds. especially for a show like Into the Woods, when i'm at each end of my range. there are actual notes in the book that i physically cannot play on my bassoon. thankfully, the clarinet and flute has the same note, so taking it down an octave doesn't hurt anyone.
i've been looking through my music book, and the show has songs in most major key signatures, except Cb and C# (which are just another way of thinking in B and Db anyways).
Improv: things that just don't quite fit when done to the Imperial March.
I'm finding that there are more art-related places that have 'mythical structure'- a term i made up (although there is definately a normal term) for places/buildings that sort of represent death/the womb for the cycle. Example: movie theaters. You walk through a small door into a large, dark room, where you are transformed by a story, and then leave (rebirth). Some of the ideas of these structures go back to ampitheaters in Greece.
it's all skepticism.
Art is an honest mess.
